Cookie Notice

In effect from 22 October 2026.

This site sets one cookie, and it exists only to keep your booking together between steps.

No analytics. No advertising. No tracking across other websites. Nothing to accept, and no banner to dismiss — which is why you have not seen one.

What a cookie is

A small file a website asks your browser to keep, and sends back the next time you load a page. It is how a site remembers anything about you between one click and the next. Used well it is how your booking survives moving from step 2 to step 3; used badly it is how advertising follows you around the internet.

The cookie we set

CookieWhat it doesHow long it lasts
PHPSESSID Holds a reference to your booking while you move through the steps — the car you chose, your dates, your extras. Without it the form would forget everything between pages. It contains a random identifier, not your name or any of your details. Until you close your browser.

This is what the law generally calls a strictly necessary cookie: the service you asked for does not work without it, so we do not ask permission for it, and there is no way to switch it off and still make a booking.

The part that is not a cookie, and matters more

Some parts of these pages — the fonts, the icons, the layout files and the award badge in our footer — are loaded from other companies' servers rather than ours.

To fetch those files your browser has to ask those servers for them, and in asking it tells them your IP address, which page you are on and what browser you are using. This happens as the page loads, before you have agreed to anything, and we cannot see or control what they do with it.

No cookie is involved, so no cookie banner would cover it. We would rather tell you than let it sit unmentioned.

CompanyLoaded fromWhat for
Google fonts.googleapis.com the web fonts the site is set in
Font Awesome kit.fontawesome.com the icons
jsDelivr cdn.jsdelivr.net the layout and script libraries
Kayak content.r9cdn.net the Kayak award badge in the footer

We are moving these onto our own server, which stops it happening altogether and makes the site faster. Until then, a browser extension that blocks third-party requests, or private browsing, will prevent it.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and refuse new ones — usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking our session cookie will stop the booking form working, but nothing else on the site depends on it.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics or anything that follows you beyond this site, we will update this page, change the date at the top, and ask you first. We have no plans to.
